Cool project outlined over on my other blog devoted to fine arts & painting. Involves helicopters.
Dutch angle view of the artwork in question, with Hong Kong miniature Marx Toys Space Patrol Huey helicopter crew rescuing an Airfix Lunar Module Pilot (Fred Haise?) downed behind the lines.
The blog post is found here syracuseartfreak.blogspot.com/2023/05/lunar-module-pilot-down-behind-lines.html which is about the painting for the box the pieces are housed in but also goes over the selection process behind how the found object toy forms are chosen. Here's another along the same lines from the 4x4 inch box series.
Pilot Down Behind The Lines, with another mini Marx Space Patrol figure, a Golden Astronaut, a Chinese made Sikorsky CH-34 copy, and an MPC B-52 bomber flying air support. All paints, gels and pastes by Golden Artist Colors of nearby New Berlin NY
One more, this a (more or less) flat work again called "Pilot Rescue Behind The Lines" with a forced perspective trick using a wall of treated Crackle Paste and a painted Crescent Kellogg's Rice Krispies spaceman from 1959. Heliocopter (which his how we pronounce them here in Sarahcuse) is hand drawn. I just have a thing for pilots downed Behind the Lines, which is another sly reference to favored rock band Genesis. Apologies for any forced ads that may result there. My how YouTube has changed.
More later, got a flurry of posts lined up for this evening, should keep one busy and entertained for the weekend. Please feel welcome to message below and stop back soon for more.
